This pistol was made using a softwood body with a steel barrel. I stained the wood using some mahogany and walnut dyes and then used some wax to bring up the grain. The lock plate is Aluminium with some 1mm steel for the spring parts and the flint cap I cast in pewter. I stuck some Brass bands around the barrel and worked some more for the trigger guard and stock cap. I turned the flint screw on a lathe and used a teaspoon for the trigger. The ramrod came from a cafetière. The flint is just a piece of flint.
A small addition to this make - I entered it into a competition run by FocalPress to promote the launch of  " The Prop Building Guidebook- by Eric Hart". I won the student category .   I was very pleased as this was one of the first things I made and I only entered on a whim.
