WORK

PROCESS

I have been making things since I was given Meccano as a child. I was one of those typical boys who took stuff apart and then put most of it back together . I have improved over time and can now fit, adapt and repair most things. When I left school I became an antiquarian bookseller and learned bookbinding and printmaking techniques. When that came to an end I took Carpentry and Joinery City&Guilds  and I have been a Carpenter for over 25 years .Although wood is my preferred material to work with over the last couple of years I have started learning about other media whilst studying Prop-making at Northbrook College in West Sussex I have learned to work various metals including welding steel, casting Pewter and Aluminium, Brass work and etching. I have done some casting in resin, plaster , silicone and latex. I have gained some knowledge of theatre set building, which dovetails with my existing  experience in exhibition design,  shopfitting and commercial staging.

I've worked all over Europe and the Far East and have done a good range of odd jobs. These include, but aren't limited to, cheffing, journalism, tour guidery and architectural vandalism. Whatever you need making, it is likely I can come up with a practical solution.

one day you'll need to get a Propperjob
